OHL Roundup: Knights beat Spitfires to extend win streak to 12

WINDSOR, Ont. — Connor McMichael scored the tiebreaking goal late in the third period and the London Knights extended their winning streak with a 4-2 comeback victory over the Windsor Spitfires on Sunday in Ontario Hockey League action.

Liam Foudy scored twice, including an empty-netter to seal the game with 16 seconds left, and Matvey Guskov also found the back of the net for the Knights (17-4-2), who had four unanswered goals to erase a 2-0 deficit after the first period.

The victory extended London’s win streak to 12 straight and point streak to 15 games (14-0-1).

Curtis Douglas and Daniel D’Amico scored for the Spitfires (12-12-2).

Knights goaltender Joseph Raaymakers made 22 saves. Windsor’s Michael DiPietro stopped 26 shots.

PETES 6 BULLDOGS 3

HAMILTON — Max Grondin scored a hat trick as Peterborough doubled up the Bulldogs.

Austin Osmanski, Liam Kirk and Semyon Der-Arguchintsev also scored for the Petes (15-11-0).

Nicolas Mattinen, MacKenzie Entwistle and Navrin Mutter replied for Hamilton (11-13-1).

STORM 6 BATTALION 2

NORTH BAY, Ont. — Alexey Toropchenko scored twice to lead Guelph over the Battalion.

Liam Hawel, Barret Kirwin, Cedric Ralph and Isaac Ratcliffe also scored for the Storm (13-6-6).

Brad Chenier and Justin Brazeau supplied the offence for North Bay (11-12-2).

Guelph’s Tag Bertuzzi was given a match penalty for fighting at 14:59 of the third period.

SPIRIT 3 ATTACK 0

OWEN SOUND, Ont. — Ivan Prosvetov stopped all 48 shots his way as Saginaw blanked the Attack.

Damien Giroux, Jake Goldowski and Cole Perfetti provided goals for the Spirit (13-9-3).

Mack Guzda kicked out 24 shots for Owen Sound (13-10-3).

STING 3 GENERALS 2

OSHAWA, Ont. — Hugo Leufvenius scored twice as Sarnia snapped the Generals’ five-game win streak.

Adam Ruzicka had the other goal for the Sting (11-11-4).

Eric Henderson and Serron Noel scored for Oshawa (15-8-2).

Sarnia’s Kelton Hatcher was given a match penalty for fighting/instigating at 8:52 of the second period.
