OHL Roundup: Mascherin scores four goals as Rangers top Petes

PETERBOROUGH, Ont. — Adam Mascherin scored his fourth goal of the game in overtime to lift the Kitchener Rangers past the Peterborough Petes 5-4 on Monday afternoon in Ontario Hockey League action.

Kole Sherwood added a power-play goal for the Rangers (24-11-2) and Luke Richardson turned aside 28 shots.

Nick Isaacson, Logan DeNoble, Nikita Korostelev and Matthew Timms supplied the offence for Peterborough (16-18-3). Dylan Wells made 35 saves in defeat.

Kitchener went 1-for-2 on the power play and the Petes were scoreless on four attempts.

GENERALS 5 BATTALION 0

OSHAWA, Ont. — Kyle Keyser stopped all 38 shots he faced and Nick Wong scored twice as the Generals blanked North Bay.

Jack Studnicka had a goal and two assists with Domenico Commisso and Serron Noel also chipping in for Oshawa (18-17-2).

Julian Sime combined with Christian Propp for 30 saves for the Battalion (13-19-5).

KNIGHTS 4 STING 1

LONDON, Ont. — Andrew Perrott scored the winner and Jordan Kooy made 31 saves as the Knights downed Sarnia.

Tyler Rollo, Dalton Duhart and Cole Tymkin rounded out the attack for London (20-14-3).

Drake Rymsha opened the scoring midway through the first period on the power play for the Sting (25-11-2). Justin Fazio turned aside 28 shots in defeat.
