OHL Roundup: Nate Schnarr scores twice as Storm down Rangers

GUELPH, Ont. — Nate Schnarr scored twice as the Guelph Storm vanquished the Kitchener Rangers 5-2 on Saturday in Ontario Hockey League action.

James McEwan struck the game-winning goal for the Storm at 5:16 of the second period.

Cedric Ralph and Cam Hillis also scored for Guelph (3-2-1).

Adam Liska and Logan Stanley scored for the Rangers (4-2-1-0).

Anthony Popovich kicked out 29 shots for the Storm while Luke Richardson turned away 27 shots for Kitchener.

Guelph went 0 for 3 on the power play. The Rangers were 0 for 5 with the man advantage.

OTTERS 5 KNIGHTS 2

ERIE, Pa. — Gera Poddubnyi scored twice to lift the Otters over London.

Ivan Lodnia and Kyle Maksimovich had a goal and an assist apiece and Jordan Sambrook also scored for Erie (2-4-1).

Sam Miletic and Liam Foudy supplied the offence for the Knights (1-6-0).

COLTS 6 SPIRIT 2

SAGINAW, Mich. — Andrei Svechnikov scored twice as Barrie vanquished the Spirit.

Kirill Nizhnikov knocked in the game-winning goal at 8:26 of the second period and Curtis Douglas, Zachary Magwood and Alexey Lipanov also scored for the Colts (5-2-1).

Marcus Crawford and Matthew Kreis scored for the Spirit (1-3-1).

ICEDOGS 3 BULLDOGS 2 (SO)

HAMILTON — Akil Thomas scored the only goal of the shootout to lift Niagara over the Bulldogs.

Ben Jones and Drew Hunter scored in regulation for the IceDogs (5-2-0).

Brandon Saigeon had both goals for Hamilton (2-1-2).

ATTACK 9 SPITFIRES 2

OWEN SOUND, Ont. — Aidan Dudas scored twice, including the eventual winner midway through the first period, as the Attack downed Windsor.

Jonah Gadjovich and Alan Lyszczarczyk also had two goals apiece and Nick Suzuki, Markus Phillips and Matthew Struthers rounded out the offence for Owen Sound (3-0-2).

Cole Purboo and William Sirman scored for the Spitfires (4-2-1).
