OHL Roundup: Rangers down Petes for third straight victory

KITCHENER, Ont. – Nick McHugh had a pair of assists as the Kitchener Rangers downed the Peterborough Petes 3-1 en route to their third straight victory in Ontario Hockey League action Tuesday.

Greg Meireles struck the game-winning goal on the power play for the Rangers (16-17-3) at 7:40 of the second period. Donovan Sebrango and Ryan Stepien rounded out the scoring for the Rangers.

Christopher Paquette scored the lone goal for the Petes (20-16-0).

Luke Richardson kicked out 24 shots for Kitchener. Hunter Jones turned aside 43 shots in a losing effort for Peterborough.

The Rangers went 2 for 6 on the power play.

OSHAWA, Ont. — Anthony Salinitri scored a hat trick and Serron Noel had three assists as Oshawa thumped Kingston.

Kyle MacLean and Allan McShane also scored for the Generals (22-13-2). Adrien Beraldo and Jacob Murray replied for the Frontenacs (11-25-1).

Aidan Hughes kicked out 21 shots for Oshawa. Brendan Bonello stopped 30 shots for Kingston.
