OHL Roundup: Rangers top Greyhounds to even Western Conference final


KITCHENER, Ont. — Givani Smith scored twice as the Kitchener Rangers levelled their Western Conference final series against the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds at 2-2 with a 7-4 victory in Ontario Hockey League playoff action Wednesday.

Kole Sherwood scored the game-winning goal for the Rangers at 13:30 of the second period.

Logan Brown, Greg Meireles, Adam Mascherin and Rickard Hugg also scored for the Rangers.

Keeghan Howdeshell scored twice, while Taylor Raddysh and Tim Gettinger also got on the board for the Greyhounds.

Mario Culina turned aside 30 shots for Kitchener. Tyler Johnson combined with Matthew Villalta for 26 saves for Sault Ste. Marie.

The Rangers went 2 for 4 on the power play. The Greyhounds went 1 for 3 with the man advantage.
