OHL Roundup: Rymsha, Ernst lead Sting past Rangers in shootout

SARNIA, Ont. — Drake Rymsha and Jordan Ernst scored in the shootout as the Sarnia Sting edged the Kitchener Rangers 4-3 on Wednesday in Ontario Hockey League action.

Adam Ruzicka, Jordan Kyrou and Anthony Salinitri had goals in regulation time for the Sting (45-16-5), while Justin Fazio made 30 saves for the win.

Logan Brown, Logan Stanley and Kole Sherwood scored for the Rangers (43-20-4). Mario Culina stopped 30 shots in net for Kitchener.

Both teams went 0 for 4 on the power play.

GENERALS 7 FRONTENACS 4

KINGSTON, Ont. — Domenico Commisso scored twice as Oshawa toppled the Frontenacs.

Kenny Huether’s power-play winner for the Generals (35-28-3) came with one second left in the second period. Renars Krastenbergs, Brendan Harrogate, Hayden McCool and Serron Noel also scored.

Cliff Pu struck twice for Kingston (35-22-9), while Eemeli Rasanen and Gabriel Vilardi also found the back of the net.

ATTACK 7 FIREBIRDS 1

FLINT, Mich. — Daylon Groulx and Alan Lyszczarczyk had two goals apiece as Owen Sound downed the Firebirds.

Nick Suzuki, Brett McKenzie and Ethan Szypula also scored for the Attack (36-22-8).

Jack Wismer scored for the Firebirds (19-42-5).

GREYHOUNDS 8 SPIRIT 1

SAULT STE. MARIE, Ont. — Jack Kopacka scored twice as the Greyhounds defeated Saginaw.

Taylor Raddysh, Hayden Verbeek, Boris Katchouk, Morgan Frost, Jordan Sambrook and Conor Timmins also scored for Sault Ste. Marie (54-7-10).

Ryan Stepien scored for the Spirit (29-29-8).
