OHL Roundup: Studnicka powers Generals past 67’s in shootout

OTTAWA _ Jack Studnicka scored in regulation time and again in the shootout as the Oshawa Generals edged the Ottawa 67’s 2-1 on Wednesday in Ontario Hockey League action.
Kyle MacLean also scored for the Generals (14-7-2) in the shootout and Kyle Keyser made 35 saves for the win.
Sasha Chmelevski replied for the 67’s (19-6-1) as Cedrick Andree stopped 31 shots in net.
Both teams went 0 for 2 on the power play.

RANGERS 7 FIREBIRDS 2

FLINT, Mich. _ Nick McHugh scored twice as Kitchener routed the Firebirds.
Jonathan Yantsis’s goal 38 seconds into the middle period was the eventual winner for the Rangers (12-11-2), while Rickard Hugg, Joseph Garreffa, Greg Meireles and Isaac Langdon rounded out the attack.
Jake Durham had both goals for Flint (2-21-1).

GREYHOUNDS 7 WOLVES 4

SAULT STE. MARIE, Ont. _ Ryan O’Rourke scored the game-winning goal at 17:39 of the second period as the Greyhounds outpaced Sudbury.
Zack Trott, Cole MacKay, Morgan Frost, Tye Kartye, Barrett Hayton and Rory Kerins chipped in for Sault Ste. Marie (14-6-4).
Drake Pilon, Cole Candella, Nolan Hutcheson and Blake McConville replied for the Wolves (13-8-2).
Greyhounds defenceman Ryan O’Rourke was given an instigator penalty, a fighting major and a game misconduct at the 13:40 mark of the third period after an altercation with Hutcheson, who also received a five-minute major.
