SHERBROOKE, Que. — Spenser Cobbold scored 13:34 into overtime as the Charlottetown Islanders ousted the Sherbrooke Phoenix from the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League playoffs with a 4-3 victory on Monday.

Charlottetown won the best-of-seven series 4-2.

Guillaume Rioux-Legault’s goal 11:22 into the third period forced extra time for the Islanders, while Alexandre Goulet and Filip Rydstrom also scored in regulation. Daryl MacCallum made 36 saves for the win.

David Storto struck twice for Sherbrooke and Nicolas Poulin had a goal as well. Alex Bureau stopped 29 shots.

Neither team could score on the power play. Charlottetown was 0 for 4 with the man advantage, while the Phoenix went 0 for 3.

SCREAMING EAGLES 4 REMPARTS 3 (OT)

QUEBEC CITY — Dillon Boucher forced a decisive Game 7 for Cape Breton as the Screaming Eagles edged the Remparts in overtime.

Clark Bishop, Pierre-Luc Dubois and Stephen Anderson also scored for Cape Breton, while Alexandre Belanger stopped 46 shots for the win.

Adam Erne had a pair of goals for Quebec. Guillaume Gauthier also found the back of the net, while Zachary Fucale made 34 saves.

Game 7 will be in Quebec City on Tuesday.
