QMJHL Playoffs: Truchon-Viel leads Titan in Game-1 win over Tigres

BATHURST, N.B. — Jeffrey Truchon-Viel scored two goals and set up two more as the Acadie-Bathurst Titan doubled up the Victoriaville Tigres 6-3 on Friday in Game 1 of their Quebec Major Junior Hockey League semifinal series.

Justin Ducharme also scored twice and tacked on an assist for Acadie-Bathurst and Olivier Galipeau and Ethan Crossman rounded out the offence. Elijah Francis received a game misconduct for cross-checking in the second period.

Vitalii Abramov, Simon Lafrance and Jimmy Huntington scored for the Tigres.

Titan goaltender Evan Fitzpatrick stopped 24 shots. Victoriaville’s Etienne Montpetit and Tristan Cote-Cazenave combined on 29 saves.

Acadie-Bathurst hosts Game 2 on Saturday.

ARMADA 3 ISLANDERS 1

BOISBRIAND, Que. — Alexander Katerinakis scored the tiebreaking goal midway through the third period as the Armada beat Charlottetown in Game 1 of their semifinal.

Alexandre Alain and Joel Teasdale also scored for Blainville-Boisbriand, which will host Game 2 on Saturday.

Derek Gentile had the lone goal for the Islanders.
