Paul Dimitruk sparked Halifax with a goal and two assists as the Mooseheads stormed back to beat the Gatineau Olympiques 3-2 in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action Thursday.
Trailing 2-0 after the first, Dimitruk scored 1:20 into the second to get the Mooseheads (6-22-2) on the board.
Alex Lemieux knotted the game 2-2 at 8:11 before Carl Gelinas gave Halifax the lead on the power play at 10:15. Dimitruck set up both goals, while Lemieux assisted on the winner.
Tye McGinn put Gatineau (15-11-3) up 1-0 just eight seconds into the game. Joshua Domingues doubled the Olympiques lead at 17:34.
Elsewhere in the QMJHL it was: Cape Breton 5 Lewiston 2; and Rouyn-Noranda 4 Chicoutimi 3.
At Halifax, Mathieu Corbeil-Theriault stopped 23 shots, including all eight in the third period, to pick up just his sixth win of the season.
Gatineau starter Dereck Tait was replaced by Maxime Clermont after the third Halifax goal. Tait finished with 13 saves to take the loss, while Clermont stopped all nine shots he faced in relief.
Halifax went 1-for-6 on the power play, while Gatineau finished 0-for-4.
Screaming Eagles 5 Maineiacs 2= At Sydney, N.S., Nick MacNeil and Luke Adam each had a goal and two assists as Cape Breton topped Lewiston.
Logan Shaw, Viktor Hertzberg and Marc Bourgeois also scored for the Screaming Eagles (17-10-5).
Marco Desveaux and Francis Beauvillier replied for Lewiston (10-18-1).
Olivier Roy stopped 26 shots to pick up the win, while Jordan Kennedy made 36 saves in defeat.
Huskies 4 Sagueneens 3= At Chicoutimi, Que., Dmitry Kostromitin scored the winner in the third for Rouyn-Noranda as the Huskies beat the Sagueneens.
Sergey Ostapchuk scored twice for the Huskies (18-12-3), while Jerome Gauthier-Leduc had the other goal.
Antoine Roussel scored twice in the first and Alexandre Roy added another as the Sagueneens (11-11-6) built a 3-0 lead before the Huskies stormed back.
Jessy Lecours made 30 saves to pick up the win, while Christopher Gibson stopped 18 shots in defeat.
