The QMJHL responded to a report indicating Quebec police are investigating four members of the Gatineau Olympiques for an alleged sexual assault that is said to have occurred in January.

“The Quebec Major Junior Hockey League will fully cooperate with the police in the context of this investigation following a complaint against players of the Gatineau Olympiques,” an official QMJHL statement read. “The commissioner will make all necessary decisions after verification and analysis of the facts and circumstances.”

QMJHL commissioner Gilles Courteau echoed that sentiment during a press conference at the Colisée Pepsi in Quebec Tuesday. He told reporters he wants to get all the facts before making a decision on how to proceed regarding disciplinary action and what a potential punishment might be.

The names of the players allegedly involved have not been made public.

Similar allegations involving the Olympiques were reported last month.
