QMJHL Roundup: Alexandrov leads Islanders in win over Cataractes

CHARLOTTETOWN — Nikita Alexandrov scored two goals and set up another as the Charlottetown Islanders doubled up the Shawinigan Cataractes 6-3 on Friday for their third straight Quebec Major Junior Hockey League win.

Daniel Hardie and William Sirman had a goal and two assists apiece for Charlottetown (6-5-1) and Keith Getson and Derek Gentile also scored.

Jeremy Manseau, Jan Drozg and Mavrick Bourque scored for the Cataractes (3-8-0).

Islanders goaltender Matthew Welsh stopped 19 shots.

Lucas Fitzpatrick started for Shawinigan and allowed five goals on 34 shots through 49:50. Antoine Coulombe stopped 3-of-4 shots the rest of the way.

QUEBEC CITY — Andrew Coxhead scored twice as the Remparts downed Acadie-Bathurst.

Jeremy Laframboise, Benjamin Gagne, Gabriel Montreuil and Aleksei Sergeev also scored for Quebec (6-5-1).

Domenic Malatesta had the lone goal for the Titan (3-8-0).

VICTORIAVILLE, Que. — Mikhail Abramov scored the winner 13:02 into the third period and the Tigres held on to defeat Halifax.

Mathieu Sevigny, Sean Larochelle and Egor Serdyuk also scored for Victoriaville (6-4-1).

Jared McIsaac, Samuel Asselin and Xavier Parent replied for the Mooseheads (9-3-0).

GATINEAU, Que. — Olivier Rodrigue stopped 21 shots and Cedric Desruisseaux scored twice in Drummondville’s shutout over the Olympiques.

Xavier Bernard and Xavier Simoneau also scored for the Voltigeurs (9-4-0).

Tristan Berube turned aside 37 shots for Gatineau (5-6-1).

BOISBRIAND, Que. — Emile Samson made 32 saves and Charles-Antoine Giguere had two goals as the Armada blanked Val-d’Or.

Alexander Katerinakis and Thomas Ethier provided the other goals for Blaiville-Boisbriand (6-4-1)

Jonathan Lemieux turned away 37 shots for the Foreurs (2-9-1).

BAIE-COMEAU, Que. — Christopher Merisier-Ortiz and Samuel L’Italien each had a goal and an assist apiece to power the Drakkar over Rouyn-Noranda.

Hugo Savinsky, Gabriel Fortier, and Ivan Chekhovich also scored for Baie-Comeau (9-2-1).

Rafael Harvey-Pinard and Felix Bibeau scored and assisted on each other’s goals for the Huskies (9-2-0).
