QMJHL Roundup: Armada shut out Phoenix to take 2-1 series lead

SHERBROOKE, Que. – Samuel Harvey stopped all 36 shots he faced as the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies blanked the Sherbrooke Phoenix 3-0 on Tuesday in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League playoff action.

Rouyn-Noranda now leads the best-of-seven series 2-1.

Peter Abbandonato scored twice for the Huskies, while Rafael Harvey-Pinard also found the back of the net.

Reilly Pickard turned away 33 shots for Sherbrooke.

Rouyn-Noranda did not score on its four power plays and the Phoenix were 0 for 3 with the man advantage.

OCEANIC 6 WILDCATS 2

MONCTON, N.B. — Anthony Gagnon and Alexis Lafreniere had two goals apiece as Rimouski topped the Wildcats.

The Oceanic took a 2-1 lead in the seven-game series.

Samuel Dove-McFalls and Mathieu Nadeau also scored for the Oceanic.

Simon Le Coultre and Anderson MacDonald replied for Moncton.

ARMADA 4 FOREURS 2

VAL-D’OR, Que. — Charles-Antoine Giguere scored the eventual winner at 16:29 of the second period as Blainville-Boisbriand doubled the Foreurs.

Thomas Ethier, Remy Anglehart and Alexandre Alain also scored as the Armada took a 3-0 lead in their seven-game series.

Ivan Kozlov and Nathan Hudgin scored for Val-d’Or.

TIGRES 4 OLYMPIQUES 2

GATINEAU, Que. — Felix Boivin’s goal late in the second period stood as the winner as Victoriaville down Gatineau.

The Tigres have a 3-0 lead in the best-of-seven playoff series.

Vitalii Abramov, Dominic Cormier and Simon Lafrance also scored for Victoriaville.

Dawson Theede and Anthony Beauchamp supplied the offence for the Olympiques.

TITAN 3 SAGUENEENS 2

CHICOUTIMI, Que. — Jordan Maher put away the winner early in the third period to power Acadie-Bathurst past the Sagueneens.

Samuel Asselin and Olivier Galipeau had the other goals for the Titan, who lead the series 2-1.

Kevin Klima and Samuel Houde scored for Chicoutimi.

DRAKKAR 4 MOOSEHEADS 2

BAIE-COMEAU, Que. — Gabriel Fortier struck twice as the Drakkar sailed past Halifax.

Despite the loss the Mooseheads hold a 2-1 series lead.

Jean-Simon Belanger supplied the game winning goal for the Drakkar at 12:05 of the second period. Ivan Chekhovich also scored.

Arnaud Durandeau and Filip Zadina responded for the Mooseheads.
