QMJHL Roundup: Batherson scores in shootout as Armada beat Remparts

QUEBEC — Drake Batherson and Alex Barre-Boulet both scored in the shootout as the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada slipped past the Quebec Remparts 3-2 on Friday in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action.

Batherson also scored in regulation time for the Armada (44-10-6), as did Luke Henman. Emile Samson made 21 saves for Blainville-Boisbriand.

Olivier Mathieu and Sam Dunn supplied the offence for the Remparts (35-21-6), who got 32 saves from Antoine Samuel.

The Armada could not score on their two power plays and Quebec was 1 for 3 with the man advantage.

DRAKKAR 6 SAGUENEENS 5 (SO)

BAIE-COMEAU, Que. — Jordan Martel scored in regulation and again in the shootout to lift the Drakkar over Chicoutimi.

Nathan Legare, Isaiah Gallo-Demetris, Ivan Chekhovich, and Christopher Merisier-Ortiz also scored for the Drakkar (28-28-5).

Kevin Klima and Samuel Houde had two goals apiece for the Sagueneens (24-31-5), while Kelly Kilma chipped in as well.

PHOENIX 3 HUSKIES 2 (OT)

ROUYN-NORANDA, Que. — Nicolas Poulin scored 3:12 into overtime as Sherbrooke edged the Huskies.

Benjamin Tardif and Samuel Poulin had regulation-time goal for the Phoenix (29-22-11).

Mathieu Boucher and Alex Beaucage scored for Rouyn-Noranda (33-18-10).

TITAN 5 SEA DOGS 1

BATHURST, N.B. — Liam Murphy had a hat trick as Acadie-Bathurst toppled Saint John.

Murphy knocked in the game-winning goal for the Titan (37-15-9) at 5:03 of the second period. Noah Dobson and Adam Holwell also scored for Acadie-Bathurst.

Kevin Mason replied for the Sea Dogs (13-36-11).

Saint John’s William Poirier was given a game misconduct for checking from behind at 6:40 of the first period.

CHARLOTTETOWN — Ivan Kosorenkov scored four times as Victoriaville rolled past the Islanders.

Etienne Montpetit made 31 saves in net for the Tigres (36-20-6), while Vitalii Abramov, Mathieu Sevigny, Maxime Comtois, Simon Lafrance and Vincent Lanoue rounded out the attack.

Dakota Lund-Cornish combined with Matthew Welsh for 37 saves for Charlottetown (33-22-6).

OLYMPIQUES 5 CATARACTES 1

SHAWINIGAN, Que. — Dawson Theede had a pair of goals, including the winner, as Gatineau topped the Cataractes.

Shawn Boudrias also struck twice for the Olympiques (32-22-7), while Anthony Beauchamp chipped in as well.

Antoine Demers was the lone scorer for Shawinigan (16-40-6).

VOLTIGEURS 9 OCEANIC 2

DRUMMONDVILLE, Que. — Nicolas Guay scored twice as the Voltigeurs subdued Rimouski.

Joe Veleno had the power-play winner for Drummondville (39-18-3) 12:09 into the first period. Robert Lynch, Nicolas Beaudin, Pavel Koltygin, Cedric Desruisseaux, Connor Bramwell and Morgan Adams-Moisan chipped in as well.

Alexis Lafreniere and Samuel Dove-McFalls replied for the Oceanic (39-15-7).

SCREAMING EAGLES 4 FOREURS 1

VAL-D’OR, Que. — Phelix Martineau scored twice as Cape Breton defeated the Foreurs.

Declan Smith and Isiah Campbell also scored for the Screaming Eagles (28-26-7).

Nicolas Ouellet scored for Val-d’Or (19-36-6).
