QMJHL: Armada take early finals lead with win over Titan

BOISBRIAND, Que. — Alex Barre-Boulet had a goal and an assist as the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada topped the Acadie-Bathurst Titan 4-1 in Game 1 of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League final on Friday.

Charles-Antoine Giguere, Thomas Ethier and Luke Henman also scored for the Armada.

Justin Ducharme scored the lone goal for the Titan, whose 10-game win streak was snapped.

Emile Samson turned aside 29 shots for Blainville-Boisbriand. Evan Fitzpatrick turned aside 31 shots for Acadie-Bathurst.

The Armada went 1 for 4 on the power play. The Titan went 0 for 1 with the man advantage.

Acadie-Bathurst will host Game 2 on Saturday.

The winner of the best-of-seven series will capture the QMJHL championship trophy and advance to the Memorial Cup.
