QMJHL Roundup: Truchon-Viel leads Titan in win over Sea Dogs

SAINT JOHN, N.B. — Jeffrey Truchon-Viel scored twice as the Acadie-Bathurst Titan downed the Saint John Sea Dogs 6-4 on Sunday in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action.

Ethan Crossman had the winning goal 13:21 into the third period and Antoine Morand, Mitchell Balmas and Noah Dobson also scored for Acadie-Bathurst (39-15-9).

Cole Reginato, Anthony Boucher, Nathan Larose and Ben Reid replied for the Sea Dogs (13-38-11).

Titan goaltender Joseph Murdaca kicked out 25 shots while Saint John’s Alex D’Orio made 60 saves.

Both teams were 0 for 4 on the power play.

ISLANDERS 6 WILDCATS 3

CHARLOTTETOWN — Pascal Aquin scored a hat trick as the Islanders doubled up Moncton.

Brett Budgell scored twice and Cameron Askew also scored for Charlottetown (34-22-6).

James Phelan led the Wildcats (25-30-8) with two goals. Alexander Khovanov had the other.

BAIE-COMEAU, Que. –Ben Higgins put away the winner with 4:45 left to play in the third as Halifax edged the Drakkar.

Xavier Parent, Arnaud Durandeau, Jake Ryczek and Raphael Lavoie also scored for the Mooseheads (40-16-7).

Nathan Legare and Ivan Chekhovich had two goals apiece for Baie-Comeau (28-29-5).

SHAWINIGAN, Que. — Dereck Baribeau stopped all 32 shots he faced as Quebec blanked the Cataractes.

Pierrick Dube, Matthew Boucher, Louis-Filip Cote, Pascal Laberge and Benjamin Gagne supplied the offence for the Remparts (36-21-6).

Mathieu Bellemare kicked out 16 shots for Shawinigan (16-41-6).
