QMJHL: Titan advances to President Cup final with sweep of Tigres

VICTORIAVILLE, Que. — Jeffrey Truchon-Viel scored twice as the Acadie-Bathurst Titan completed a four-game sweep of the Victoriaville Tigres with a 4-3 win to reach the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League playoffs final on Wednesday.

Truchon-Viel scored the game-winning goal for the Titan at 10:51 of the third period.

Samuel Asselin and German Rubtsov also found the back of the net for the Titan.

Maxime Comtois, Felix Lauzon and Ivan Kosorenkov responded for the Tigres.

Evan Fitzpatrick kicked out 38 shots for Acadie-Bathurst. Etienne Montpetit turned aside 26 shots for Victoriaville.

The Tigres went 0 for 4 on the power play. The Titan went 0 for 1 with the man advantage.

ISLANDERS 4 ARMADA 3 (OT)

CHARLOTTETOWN — Keith Getson scored in overtime as the Islanders evened their semifinal playoff series with Blainville-Boisbriand 2-2.

Brett Budgell, Derek Gentile and Sullivan Sparkes also scored for the Islanders.

Drake Batherson, Alexandre Alain and Thomas Ethier replied for the Armada.

Matthew Welsh turned aside 34 shots for Charlottetown. Emile Samson turned away 22 shots for Blainville-Boisbriand.

The Islanders didn’t score on their one power play. The Armada went 1 for 3 with the man advantage.
