The Regina Pats of the Western Hockey League will take to the ice in green sweaters for St. Patrick’s Day rather than their usual red, white and blue threads.
There’s no sense in only going halfway for the occasion. The Pats added a “St.” to the logo for Tuesday’s game versus the first-overall Brandon Wheat Kings.
It’s a subtle addition, but an ingenious one nonetheless.
The Pats currently sit in second place in the WHL’s East Division, 25 points behind the Wheat Kings. It will be the eighth and final meeting between the teams this season, with Brandon having won four of seven contests thus far. The Wheat Kings have won four straight games heading into Tuesday.
