Shawinigan Cataractes winger Vincent Senez has been suspended for three games, the QMJHL announced on Friday.
Senez’s punishment came as a result of a play that occurred during Shawinigan’s 3-1 loss to the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies on Wednesday.
During the incident in question, Senez skated across the offensive zone and delivered a check to Huskies forward Rafael Harvey-Pinard, connecting with the latter forward’s head.
Senez was disciplined after the QMJHL’s Director of Player Safety, Raymond Bolduc, reviewed the video of the incident, determining that the Cataractes winger left his feet and delivered an illegal check to the head.
Harvey-Pinard was uninjured on the play, according to the league. Senez’s first chance to return following his suspension will come on Nov. 19 against Drummondville.
