Swiss beat Finns in SO to finish 5th at WJHC

BUFFALO, N.Y. — Yannick Herren scored the winner in a shootout as Switzerland edged Finland 3-2 on Tuesday night to finish fifth at the world junior hockey championship.

Inti Pestoni and Luca Camperchioli had the goals in regulation time for Switzerland.

Teemu Pulkkinen and Erik Haula replied for Finland.

In other action, the Czech Republic downed Slovakia 5-2 while Norway beat Germany 3-1. Both the Norwegians and Germans had already been relegated to next year’s Division 1 event.

Canada faces Russia in Wednesday’s final, while the U.S. takes on Sweden for bronze.
