KENNEWICK, Wash. — Justin Feser scored two short-handed goals and Eric Comrie had 42 saves to lead the Tri-City Americans to a 3-2 victory Saturday over the visiting Kelowna Rockets in Western Hockey League action.
Feser scored both of his goals in the first period on the same Kelowna power play and Drydn Dow assisted on both.
"Any goal counts and any goal is fun to score," said Feser, who leads the Americans with 17 goals. "Short-handed ones are hard to come by."
Tri-City (15-7-2), which jumped out to a 3-0 first-period lead, also got a power-play goal from Marcus Messier
Kelowna (12-7-2) came back in the second with a pair of goals.
Rourke Chartier scored on the power play at 13:50, and Ryan Olsen followed up 41 seconds later as his shot bounced off Tri-City defenseman Justin Hamonic’s skate and past Comrie.
Jordon Cooke stopped 22 shots in alosing cause.
Both clubs went 1-for-4 on the power play.

Silvertips edge the Giants 6-5

EVERETT, Wash. — Reid Petryk scored twice, including the game-winning goal with less than five minutes remaining, as the Everett Silvertips beat the Vancouver Giants 6-5 on Saturday night in Western Hockey League action.
Petryk took a pass off the board to get past the defense, then made a move to his backhand to score his second goal of the game.
Nick Walters, Landon Oslanski, Tyler Sandhu and Ty Mappin also scored for Everett (8-14-2), which was playing without its captain and defensive star Ryan Murray. Murray suffered a dislocated shoulder Friday night against the Victoria Royals and is out indefinitely.
Brett Kulak, Anthony Ast, Kale Kessy, Trevor Cheek and Taylor Vickerman scored for the Giants (7-14-0).
Austin Lotz earned the win in goal, making 21 saves, as Payton Lee stopped 21 shots in a losing cause.
Everett went 2-for-6 on the power play while Vancouver went 1-for-2.

Winterhawks beat the Tigers 5-2

PORTLAND, Ore. — Ty Rattie and Taylor Leier each scored twice as the Portland Winterhawks downed the visiting Medicine Hat Tigers 5-2 on Saturday in Western Hockey League action.
Chase De Leo also scored for the Winterhawks (17-4-1) while Nicolas Petan had three assists.
Miles Koules and Cole Sanford scored for the Tigers (11-12-1), who have lost three games in a row.
Brendan Burke made 24 saves for the win as Marek Langhamer stopped 48-of-53 shots in a losing effort.
Portland went 1-for-5 on the power play while Medicne Hat failed to score on its only opportunity with the man advantage.

Pats beat the Royals 3-2

VICTORIA — Morgan Klimchuk scored the winner with just 25 seconds remaining as the Regina Pats defeated the host Victoria Royals 3-2 in Western Hockey League action on Saturday night.
Colten Mayor and Adam Rossignol also scored for the Pats (8-14-2) while Luke Fenske added three assists.
Tyler Stahl and Jordan Fransoo responded for the Royals (11-11-0).
The highlight of the opening period was a spirited fight between Victoria defenceman Fransoo and Regina winger Dyson Stevenson.
The Royals opened the scoring early in the second when Stahl converted a perfect pass from Logan Nelson on the power play.
The Pats tied the game on a power play of their own when Mayor deflected a point shot high past Royals’ goaltender Patrik Polivka.
Regina went ahead 2-1 in the last minute of the period when Rossignol banged one in from between Polivka’s pads.
The Royals pushed hard in the third period with several quality chances and with just over two minutes left in regulation time, a big rebound was picked up by Fransoo and snapped high over Teagan Sacher’s right shoulder.
Regina responded with just 25 seconds left to win the game when Klimchuk deked around the Victoria defence and snapped a low shot past Polivka.
Sacher made 32 saves for the win as Polivka stopped 18 shots in a losing cause.
Regina went 0-for-3 on the power play while Victoria went 1-for-6.

Raiders edge the Oil Kings

EDMONTON — Shane Danyluk scored the winner in overtime and Luke Siemens stopped 47 shots as the Prince Albert Raiders downed the host Edmonton Oil Kings 4-3 on Saturday in Western Hockey League action.
Mike Winther had a goal and an assist for the Raiders (15-6-2) while Leon Draisaitl and Carson Perreaux each scored once.
Michael St. Croix, Cody Corbett and David Musil each scored for the Oil Kings (13-5-4) and Dylan Wruck and Henrik Samuelsson had two assists apiece.
Laurent Brossoit stopped 18-of-22 shots in a losing cause.
Prince Albert went 0-for-3 on the power play while Edmonton went 0-for-4.

Rebels edge the Broncos 2-1

RED DEER, Alta. — Patrik Bartosak stopped 25 shots as the Red Deer Rebels edged the visiting Swift Current Broncos 2-1 on Saturday in Western Hockey League action.
Turner Elson’s third-period goal stood up as the winner for the Rebels (11-11-2) while Rhyse Dieno scored the other.
Chance Lund scored the lone goal for the Broncos (9-10-5) as Eetu Laurikainen stopped 25 in a losing cause.
Red Deer went 0-for-3 on the power play while Swift Current failed to score on its only chance with the man advantage.
Brent Sutter made his return behind Red Deer’s bench after replacing Jesse Wallin, who was relieved earlier in the week.

Ice blank the Wheat Kings 4-0

CRANBROOK, B.C. — Mackenzie Skapski stopped all 31 shots he faced as the Kootenay Ice blanked the visiting Brandon Wheat Kings 4-0 on Saturday in Western Hockey League action.
Sam Reinhart scored twice for the Ice (7-12-1), who have picked up three straight victories, and Luke Philip and Zach McPhee each scored once.
Curtis Honey stopped 28-of-32 shots for the Wheat Kings (9-11-3), who have now dropped four games in a row.
Kootenay went 1-for-4 on the power play while Brandon failed to score on six chances with the man advantage.
