CALGARY — Colin Smith scored his league-leading 24th and 25th goals and added another in the shootout Tuesday as the Kamloops Blazers beat the Calgary Hitmen 3-2 in the Western Hockey League.
Smith and Brendan Ranford both beat Hitmen goalie Chris Driedger on dekes in the shootout for Kamloops (25-7-3). Victor Rask got Calgary’s shootout goal. Cole Cheveldave stopped Greg Chase to end the game.
Zane Jones and Brady Brassart scored for the Hitmen (20-7-3) in regulation. Smith’s power-play goal 19 seconds into the third period tied the game 2-2.
Cheveldave made 24 saves to get the win, while Driedger stopped 18 shots in taking the loss.
The Blazers were 1-for-5 on the power play, while the Hitmen finished the night 1-of-4.
Logan Harland leads Saskatoon Blades past Brandon Wheat Kings 7-5
BRANDON, Man. — Logan Harland scored twice as the Saskatoon Blades defeated the Brandon Wheat Kings 7-5 on Tuesday in the Western Hockey League.
Matej Stransky had an empty-net goal and added two assists for Saskatoon (16-14-1). Former Wheat King Brenden Walker had a goal and an assist, while Darren Dietz, Ryan Graham and Nathan Burns also scored as the Blades earned their third-straight victory.
Jayce Hawryluk had a goal and three assists, while Richard Nejezchleb scored twice for the Wheat Kings (11-18-4). Ryan Pulock and Nick Buonassisi each had a goal and an assist for Brandon.
Goaltender Corbin Boes stopped 46 shots for the What Kings. Alex Moodie made 35 saves for Saskatoon.

Colten Martin scores winner as Rockets down Ice 3-1
CRANBROOK, B.C. — Colten Martin grabbed the winner at 14:17 of the third period and the Kelowna Rockets scored three times in the third period to defeat the Kootenay Ice 3-1 in the Western Hockey League on Tuesday.
Tyson Baillie had the other goals for Kelowna (20-9-2), which got 29 saves from Jordan Cooke.
Collin Shirley replied for Kootenay (9-20-1). Wyatt Hofflin stopped 30 shots in defeat.
After Shirley gave the Ice the lead on the power play off a pass from Kyle O’Connor at 1:37 of the second, the Rockets scored two goals in 95 seconds in third period to turn the tide.
Baillie scored on a power play at 12:42 before Martin added the winner just over 1:30 later. Baillie then put the game out of reach 18:35 as the Rockets kicked off a five-game road trip with a victory.

The Blazers were 1-for-5 on the power play, while the Hitmen finished the night 1-of-4.
Myland makes 17 saves as Swift Current Broncos shut out Prince George Cougars
PRINCE GEORGE, B.C. — Steven Myland made 17 saves Tuesday as the Swift Current Broncos shut out the Prince George Cougars 2-0 in the Western Hockey League.
Myland was making his first start of the season, and just the third of his career, in place of Eetu Laurikainen, who is preparing for the world junior hockey championship with Finland.
Ryon Moser and Adam Lowry scored for the Broncos (14-16-5), who were playing the fifth game of a six-game road trip. Chance Lund and Graham Black picked each had assists.
Brett Zarowny stopped 33 shots in taking the loss for Prince George (10-17-4).
Swift Current finished the night 0-for-2 on the power play, while the Cougars did not receive a man-advantage opportunity.

Alexander Gogolev’s three points leads Royals over Thunderbirds 6-2

KENNEWICK, Wash. — Alexander Gogolev scored two goals and added an assist Tuesday to lead the Victoria Royals to a 6-2 win over the Seattle Thunderbirds in the Western Hockey League.
Goglev now has 13 goals on the season for Victoria (17-13-1), winners of two in a row.
Jamie Crooks, Logan Fisher, Austin Carroll and Brett Cole also scored for the Royals.
Seattle (16-15-1) got goals from Roberts Lipsbergs and Connor Sanvido.
Victoria outshot Seattle 43-31 in the game and converted on 3-of-7 power-play opportunities to make a winner of goaltender Patrik Polivka, who ran his record to 14-7-1 on the season.
Brandon Glover made 37 saves in taking the loss.
Winquist, Lotz lead Everett Silvertips over Tri-City Americans 2-1 in a shootout
KENT, Wash. — Josh Winquist scored the only goal in the shootout and Austin Lotz finished with 45 saves and stopped all three Tri-City players in the shootout Tuesday as the Everett Silvertips rallied to beat the Americans 2-1 in the Western Hockey League.
Justin Feser ended an eight-game goal drought at 17:28 of the first period to give the Americans (18-12-3) a 1-0 lead they would hold until Everett’s Carson Stadnyk tied the score at 10:46 of the third.
The Silvertips (13-20-2) had four power plays in the second period, including a 5-on-3 for 1:20, but had no luck against Eric Comrie and the Americans’ defence.
Comrie, who has lost his last six starts, finished with 29 saves.
"Eric played terrific," Tri-City coach Jim Hiller said. "You give up one goal, you expect to win. We have to score more goals for him."
