EVERETT, Wash. – Connor Dewar scored twice and added an assist as the Everett Silvertips held on for a 6-5 win over the Tri-City Americans on Monday night in Western Hockey League action.
Riley Sutter’s empty-net goal in the final minute of play became the winner for Everett (28-16-2) after Tri-City added a goal with 16 second left. Patrick Bajkov and Garrett Pilon had power-play goals, while Sean Richards also found the back of the net.
Nolan Yaremko led the Americans (22-16-5) with two goals and Dylan Coghlan’s late power-play goal making Sutter’s empty-netter the winner. Jordan Topping and Isaac Johnson also scored.
Dustin Wolf made 35 saves for the win in net and Beck Warm stopped 39-of-44 for Tri-City.
The Silvertips scored on both of their power plays and the Americans went 1 for 2.
