WHL Roundup: Hannoun with hat trick, Raiders beat Blades to advance

SASKATOON — Dante Hannoun potted a hat trick as the Prince Albert Raiders defeated the Saskatoon Blades 6-3 on Sunday to take their Western Hockey League second-round series in six games.

Hannoun scored the eventual winner at 3:33 of the third period to set up a meeting with the Edmonton Oil Kings in the third round of the WHL playoffs.

Parker Kelly, Aliaksei Protas and Sean Montgomery also scored for the Raiders, who got 19 saves from Ian Scott.

Ryan Hughes struck twice and Tristen Robins had the other goal for the Blades.

Nolan Maier stopped 26 shots for Saskatoon.

A crowd of 10,521 was on hand at SaskTel Centre to watch the Blades’ final game of the season.

The other third-round matchup will see the Vancouver Giants against the Spokane Chiefs.
