WHL Roundup: Jesse Makaj makes 16 saves as Ice shut out Broncos

SWIFT CURRENT, Sask. — Jesse Makaj stopped all 16 shots he faced as the Kootenay Ice shut out the Swift Current Broncos 2-0 on Tuesday night in Western Hockey League action.

Jaeger White had the eventual winner for Kootenay (9-29-7) just 51 seconds into the second period. Peyton Krebs scored his 16th of the season early in the third period.

Isaac Poulter made 32 saves for Swift Current (9-31-3).

The Ice went 1 for 6 on the power play and the Broncos could not score on their four man advantages.

KAMLOOPS, B.C. — Justin Almeida scored twice as Moose Jaw beat the Blazers .

Daniil Stepanov, Tristin Langan and Dalton Hamaliuk also scored for the Warriors (22-11-7).

Brodi Stuart and Jermaine Loewen replied for Kamloops (15-23-3).
