WHL Roundup: Tristin Langan scores twice as Warriors beat Pats

MOOSE JAW, Sask. – Tristin Langan had two goals and an assist as the Moose Jaw Warriors beat the Regina Pats 5-2 on Saturday in Western Hockey League play.

Josh Brook scored the winner in the second period for the Warriors (33-16-8) with Brayden Tracey and Carson Denomie also chipping in.

Brady Pouteau, on the power play, and Garrett Wright scored for Regina (18-39-3).

Adam Evanoff turned aside 15 shots for the win in net as Max Paddock made 30 saves in defeat.

Both teams went 1 for 3 with the man advantage.

RAIDERS 7 WHEAT KINGS 1

PRINCE ALBERT, Sask. — Noah Gregor scored two goals and an assist and Cole Fonstad had a goal and three helpers as the Raiders downed Brandon.

Ozzy Wiesblatt, Jakob Brook, Parker Kelly and Sean Montgomery supplied the rest of the offence for Prince Albert (49-8-3).

Vincent Iorio scored his first of the season for the Wheat Kings (29-23-7).

Kelly received a major penalty and game misconduct for boarding late in the third period.

BLADES 4 ICE 3 (SO)

SASKATOON — Kyle Crnkovic had the only goal in a shootout as the Blades held off a Kootenay comeback.

Kristian Roykas Marthinsen, Gary Haden and Reece Harsch scored in regulation for Saskatoon (38-13-8).

Jaeger White, Brad Ginnell and Jakin Smallwood found the back of the net for the Ice (11-38-10).

HITMEN 6 BRONCOS 1

SWIFT CURRENT, Sask. — James Malm scored once and added two assists to lift Calgary over the Broncos.

Devan Klassen, Luke Coleman, Kaden Elder, Ryder Korczak and Jackson van de Leest rounded out the attack for the Hitmen (31-22-6).

Joona Kiviniemi had a power-play goal for Swift Current (10-42-5).

OIL KINGS 5 REBELS 2

RED DEER, Alta. — Trey Fix-Wolansky potted the winner at 9:01 of the second as Edmonton downed the Rebels.

Vince Loschiavo, Parker Gavlas, Andrei Pavlenko and Vladimir Alistrov also scored for the Oil Kings (34-18-8).

Ethan Sakowich and Oleg Zaytsev replied for Red Deer (29-24-5).

HURRICANES 5 TIGERS 0

MEDICINE HAT, Alta. — Carl Tetachuk made 35 saves as Lethbridge blanked the Tigers.

Calen Addison struck twice while Nick Henry, Dylan Cozens and Jake Elmer also scored for the Hurricanes (32-17-10).

Jordan Hollett allowed five goals on 23 shots in 41 minutes of action for Medicine Hat (31-24-5).

WINTERHAWKS 4 THUNDERBIRDS 3 (SO)

KENT, Wash. — Seth Jarvis scored the shootout winner to lift Portland over Seattle.

Clay Hanus, Lane Gilliss and Jared Freadrich had goals in regulation time for the Winterhawks (37-17-6). Defenceman Nick Cicek was ejected for checking from behind at 16:44 of the second.

Matthew Wedman, Owen Williams and Andrej Kukuca found the back of the net for the Thunderbirds (24-28-7).

KELOWNA, B.C. — Roman Basran kicked out 18 shots as the Rockets got by Kamloops.

Nolan Foote and Mark Liwiski scored for Kelowna (26-29-5).

Dylan Ferguson turned aside 21-of-23 shots for the Blazers (22-29-6).

SILVERTIPS 6 COUGARS 3

EVERETT, Wash. — Bryce Kindopp scored twice as the Silvertips doubled up Prince George.

Robbie Holmes, Wyatte Wylie, Zack Andrusiak and Jackson Berezowski also scored for Everett (42-14-4).

Matej Toman struck twice while Josh Maser had the other Cougars (17-36-7) goal.

CHIEFS 2 AMERICANS 1

SPOKANE, Wash. — Eli Zummack scored the winner at 3:32 of the third as the Chiefs slipped past Tri-City.

Adam Beckman also hit the scoresheet for Spokane (31-19-7).

Nolan Yaremko had the lone goal for the Americans (33-22-3).

ROYALS 5 GIANTS 4 (SO)

VICTORIA — Phillip Schultz scored the winner in the seventh round of the shootout as the Royals beat Vancouver.

Brandon Cutler, Kody McDonald, Dino Kambeitz and Logan Doust rounded out the offence for Victoria (31-25-3).

Milos Roman, Jadon Joseph, Davis Koch and Jared Dmytriw scored for the Giants (40-14-4).
