The National Hockey League released it’s 2011 NHL All-Star fan balloting on Friday, and fans can begin voting on November 15.
The Toronto Maple Leafs and the Vancouver Canucks led Canadian teams with four players each on the 100 person ballot. The Leafs have Dion Phaneuf, JS Giguere, Phil Kessel and Tomas Kaberle. The Canucks are led by Roberto Luongo, Daniel Sedin, Henrik Sedin and Dan Hamhuis.
The Ottawa Senators are represented by Daniel Alfredsson, Jason Spezza and Sergei Gonchar, while the Montreal Canadiens have Andrei Markov, Mike Cammalleri and Brian Gionta on the ballot.
In Alberta, the Oilers’ Nikolai Khabibulin and Ales Hemsky were chosen, as were the Calgary Flames Jarome Iginla, Miikka Kiprusoff and Jay Bouwmeester.
Through Jan. 3, NHL fans will be able to select up to six players by position – three forwards, two defensemen and one goaltender – without regard to the Conference in which their teams play for in the 2011 NHL All-Star Game.
As part of a new format, the three forwards, two defensemen and goalie with the most votes will be named first NHL All-Stars.
