Anaheim Ducks call up Nick Ritchie, Michael Sgarbossa

Frans Nielsen scored twice in the third period to lead the New York Islanders to the win over the Anaheim Ducks.

The Anaheim Ducks have recalled left winger Nick Ritchie and centre Michael Sgarbossa from the San Diego Gulls of the AHL.

Ritchie was the 10th overall pick in the 2014 Entry Draft, and has yet to make his NHL debut. The 19-year-old won a gold medal with the Canadian World Junior team last year.

Sgarbossa was an undrafted free agent who was acquired by the Ducks in a trade with the Colorado Avalanche for defenceman Mat Clark last March.

The Ducks (5-8-4) have lost three straight.Their next game is Monday against the Carolina Hurricanes.

In order to make room for Ritchie and Sgarbossa, Anaheim has sent Max Friberg and Korbinian Holzer to the AHL.
