Avalanche re-sign Jacob MacDonald to two-year extension

The Colorado Avalanche have re-signed defenceman Jacob MacDonald to a two-year contract extension, the team announced Friday.

MacDonald scored 16 goals and added 26 assists in 56 games for the Colorado Eagles in the AHL this season, ranking him first among defencemen in goals scored and fourth in points.

The 27-year-old was acquired by the Avalanche in a trade with the Florida Panthers on June 28, 2019.

MacDonald has appeared in two career NHL games, scoring once.
