Avalanche’s Nathan MacKinnon a game-time decision vs. Panthers

Watch as the Pittsburgh Penguins turn the puck over and Nathan MacKinnon and Mikko Rantanen tie the game.

Colorado Avalanche star Nathan MacKinnon is a game-time decision for Friday’s game against the Florida Panthers.

MacKinnon appeared to suffer a leg injury in Wednesday’s game against the Pittsburgh Penguins after taking a hit in the first period from Patric Hornqvist.

MacKinnon slowly skated to the bench after the hit, but stayed in the game and scored a goal later in the game.

The 24-year-old MacKinnon is coming off two seasons of at least 97 points and is already off to a hot start this season with nine points in six games.

In other Avalanche news, defenceman Nikita Zadorov will return to the lineup against the Panthers after being a healthy scratch against the Penguins. Mark Barberio will be scratched to make room for Zadorov.
