Avalanche’s Rantanen leaves game vs. Kings with lower-body injury

Avalanche forward Mikko Rantanen left the game after apparently tweaking his groin on this goal against Kings goalie Jack Campbell.

Colorado Avalanche winger Mikko Rantanen left Saturday’s game against the Los Angeles Kings with a lower-body injury.

He has been ruled out for the rest of the game, according to Ryan S. Clark of The Athletic.

The Avalanche’s leading scorer had two goals in the second period as Colorado built a commanding lead with six tallies in the period.

In 48 games this season, the 22-year-old has 23 goals, 50 assists and 73 points for Colorado.

More to come.
