Back to Back: Twitter reacts to Penguins’ Stanley Cup victory

Watch as the Penguins and Predators shake hands after a tough six games to fight for the Stanley Cup.

Back to back. It’s got a nice ring to it. Heck, Drake even used those three words as the title for a smash song.

And it goes without saying that capturing back-to-back championships is among the hardest feats a professional sports team can accomplish. Entering Sunday, no NHL team had done so in the salary cap era.

But before the clock struck midnight, that had changed as the Pittsburgh Penguins won their second straight Stanley Cup with a 2-0 win over the Nashville Predators in Game 6 of the Final.

Penguins captain Sidney Crosby not only managed to hoist the Cup for the second consecutive season, but he was also a back-to-back recipient of the Conn Smythe Trophy, awarded to the MVP of the playoffs. He joins Bernie Parent and Mario Lemieux in that exclusive club.

Here’s a look at how Twitter reacted to the Penguins’ impressive feat.
