The Chicago Blackhawks have signed defenceman Gustav Forsling to a three-year, entry-level contract.
The Swedish blue-liner was acquired in 2015 from the Vancouver Canucks in exchange for Adam Clendening.
Forsling has spent the past two seasons playing with Linkopings HC of the Swedish Hockey League.
He scored six goals and added 15 assists in 48 games this year and also played for Sweden at the world junior championships, placing fourth.
The 19-year-old was originally drafted by Vancouver 126th overall in 2014.
