The Chicago Blackhawks have placed Jason Garrison on unconditional waivers after the defenceman failed to report to the AHL.

Garrison, 34, was acquired by the Blackhawks along with Drake Caggiula in a trade with the Edmonton Oilers on Dec. 30. He was placed on waivers with the intention of being assigned to the Rockford IceHogs, to which Garrison did not report.

Garrison suited up for 17 games with the Oilers this season after spending 2017-18 with the Vegas Golden Knights organization. He played in 58 contests with the Golden Knights’ AHL affiliate last year.
