Columbus Blue Jackets forward Cam Atkinson will be added to the Metropolitan Division’s roster for the NHL All-Star Game, the league announced on Thursday.
Atkinson will replace Pittsburgh Penguins star Evgeni Malkin on the roster, who will miss the game with a lower-body injury.
The 27-year-old will join teammates Seth Jones and Sergei Bobrovsky as all-stars in Los Angeles, alongside Blue Jackets head coach John Tortorella.
This will mark Atkinson’s first all-star appearance, as he’s emerged as one of the league’s top offensive threats, tied for second in the NHL with 24 goals and eight amongst league leaders with 46 points this season.
