Blue Jackets goaltender Elvis Merzlikins out indefinitely

Columbus Blue Jackets goaltender Elvis Merzlikins is out indefinitely, head coach John Tortorella told reporters Monday.

Merzlikins was deemed unfit to play in Game 5 of the Blue Jackets’ series against the Toronto Maple Leafs. There were no further details provided about his status.

The 26-year-old played in two games of the Columbus-Toronto series, posting a 1.96 goals-against average and a .946 saves percentage.

During the 2019-20 season, Merzlikins started in 31 games and recorded a 2.35 GAA and .923 saves percentage.
