Blue Jackets’ John Tortorella wins Jack Adams Award as coach of the year

John Tortorella spoke after taking home the Jack Adams award about how the award is not for him but for the Columbus Blue Jackets and how he’s progressed as a coach.

John Tortorella has won the Jack Adams Award as the 2016-17 NHL season’s coach of the year.

Tortorella was behind the bench for the Blue Jackets’ revival, helping the team to its the best season in franchise history. They finished with a 50-24-8 record for 108 points in the tough Metropolitan Division.

Mike Babcock of the Toronto Maple Leafs and Todd McLellan of the Edmonton Oilers were also finalists for the award.
