Blue Jackets’ Sergei Bobrovsky ‘nicked,’ to sit out game vs. Oilers

Michael Frolik scored a goal and added an assist as the Calgary Flames defeated the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Columbus Blue Jackets goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky will sit out the club’s matchup with the Edmonton Oilers on Thursday night, according to multiple reports.

Blue Jackets coach John Tortorella said the two-time Vezina Trophy winner is “nicked” and backup Joonas Korpisalo is slated to start at Rogers Place.

Tortorella wouldn’t discuss whether the injury was short or long-term, tweeted Aaron Portzline of The Athletic.

Bobrovsky also reportedly declined to speak to the media.

The impending unrestricted free agent is having his worst season since 2015-16, posting a 2.72 goals-against average and a .909 save percentage.
