St. Louis Blues forward Alexander Steen has undergone successful surgery on his left shoulder, the team announced Friday.
Steen will be re-evaluated in 16 weeks. That recovery time will likely cause him to miss the World Cup of Hockey, which takes place from Sept. 17 until Oct. 1. Steen was named to Team Sweden in March.
The 32-year-old winger registered 17 goals and 35 assists in 67 regular season games this year and added four goals and six assists in 20 playoff games. The Blues were eliminated by the San Jose Sharks in Game 6 of the Western Conference Final.
