Blues’ Barbashev suspended one game for check to head of Bruins’ Johansson

Ivan Barbashev wasn't penalized for this hit to the head of Marcus Johansson in the Blues' win over the Bruins.

St. Louis Blues forward Ivan Barbashev has been suspended one game by the Department of Player Safety for an illegal check to the head on Boston Bruins left winger Marcus Johansson.

The hit occurred during the first period of Game 5 between the Bruins and Blues, when Barbashev connected on a high hit to Johansson.

There was no penalty called during the game, and Johansson did not appear to sustain any significant injury on the play.
