Blues’ Jay Bouwmeester to miss 2 games with upper-body injury

Brian Elliott made 37 saves in his second straight shutout since returning from an injury and Robby Fabbri scored the lone goal midway through the third period to give the St. Louis Blues a 1-0 victory over the San Jose Sharks.

The St. Louis Blues will be without Jay Bouwmeester for their next two games after the defenceman suffered an upper-body injury.

The 32-year-old has managed three goals and 16 assists in 70 games this year.

He is in the second season of a five-year, $27-million contract that carries a $5.4-million cap hit.

Robert Bortuzzo will take Bouwmeester’s place on the St. Louis blue-line when they host the Vancouver Canucks Friday night.

Bortuzzo has played in 34 games this season, scoring one goal.
