St. Louis Blues defenceman Joel Edmundson has undergone successful surgery on a broken right arm, the team announced on Friday.
Edmundson suffered the injury in Thursday’s 6-1 win over the Colorado Avalanche. The 24-year-old blue-liner has been placed on injured reserve and will be re-evaluated in six weeks.
The Blues have recalled defenceman Chris Butler from the AHL in wake of Edmundson’s injury.
Drafted by St. Louis in the second round (46th overall) in the 2011 NHL Draft, Edmundson has six goals and 15 points in 56 games for the Blues this season.
