Blues sign Schenn to eight-year, $52M contract extension

The St. Louis Blues have locked up forward Brayden Schenn to an eight-year, $52-million contract extension, the team announced Friday.

The deal carries an average-annual value of $6.5 million.

The 28-year-old posted 54 points in 72 games with the Blues last season and added 12 in playoffs as St. Louis captured its first Stanley Cup in franchise history.

The six-foot-one, 200-pound forward recorded a career-high 28 goals and 70 points with the Blues in 2017-18.

The native of Saskatoon, Sask., has collected 372 points across 588 games.
