The St. Louis Blues have placed forward Alexander Steen on the injured reserve with a left-shoulder injury, the team announced on Tuesday.

Steen suffered the injury in the team’s 3-0 win over the Philadelphia Flyers Monday night. The forward absorbed a hard Radko Gudas hit at centre ice before leaving the game and not returning. He will be re-evaluated in two weeks.

The 34-year-old has scored six goals and nine assists in 32 games this season for the Blues. He was originally acquired in a 2008 trade with the Toronto Maple Leafs and has flourished since. In 930 career NHL games, the Winnipeg, Manitoba native has scored 234 goals and has added 359 assists over his 12-year career.
