Ottawa Senators head coach Guy Boucher says that three players injured in Sunday’s Game 5 loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins will return for Game 6, while two other injured players remain questionable.
Defencemen Erik Karlsson and Cody Ceci, along with forward Derick Brassard, left Game 5 after the second period with undisclosed injuries. The score was already out of hand by the time they left the game and it appears all three will be healthy enough to return on Tuesday.
Blueliner Mark Borowiecki hasn’t played since Game 2 of the first round against the Boston Bruins with a leg injury but is close to returning, according to Boucher. Forward Alex Burrows, who suffered a lower-body injury in Game 3 against Pittsburgh, doesn’t appear likely to play Tuesday.
The Senators are coming off 7-0 loss to the Penguins and now face elimination in Game 6 at home on Tuesday.
