Should Brandon Manning be suspended for hit on Penguins’ Guentzel?

Brandon Manning caught Jake Guentzel with what appeared to be a massive hit to the head, but no penalty was called on the play.

There’s a chance Philadelphia Flyers defenceman Brandon Manning could be receiving a call from the NHL’s Department of Player Safety in the near future after he absolutely levelled Pittsburgh Penguins forward Jake Guentzel with what appeared to be a high head check Saturday night.

Taking place midway through the second period, Manning caught Guentzel exiting the Penguins’ zone with his head down with a shoulder to the side of the head, looking like he left his feet to deliver the hit.

No penalty was assessed on the play.
