Brock Boeser will not return vs. Flames due to foot injury

Brock Boeser couldn’t put any weight on his foot after blocking a shot from Mark Giordano, forcing him to basically crawl across the ice to get to the bench before heading off to the dressing room.

Vancouver Canucks forward Brock Boeser will not return to Sunday’s game against the Calgary Flames after suffering a foot injury, the team announced.

Boeser left the game early in the second period after blocking a shot by Flames defenceman Mark Giordano. He crawled off the ice and headed straight to the dressing room.

Sportsnet’s Dan Murphy tweeted that Boeser was seen on crutches after the game.

The 20-year-old has enjoyed an incredible start to the 2017-18 season, scoring a team-high 17 goals and 30 points in 30 games.

Vancouver already have a number of injured players already, including Bo Horvat, Sven Baertschi and Chris Tanev.
