The Boston Bruins have acquired defenceman Nick Holden from the New York Rangers in exchange for defenceman Rob O’Gara and a third-round draft pick in 2018.

Holden has three goals and 12 points in 55 games this season.

The 30-year-old came to New York in a draft day trade in 2016 from the Colorado Avalance, where he spent the three previous seasons.

He is a pending unrestricted free agent.

O’Gara has played in eight games with the Bruins this season, and hasn’t found the scoresheet.

The 24 year-old has two goals and eight points in 43 games with AHL Providence.
