Boston Bruins defenceman Zdeno Chara suffered a left MCL injury on Wednesday against the Colorado Avalanche, the team announced Saturday.
Chara will be re-evaluated in four weeks.
The Bruins captain took an awkward hit to his left knee Wednesday night as he attempted to check Colorado’s Carl Soderberg late in the first period. He pulled up immediately and was ruled out of the rest of the game by the team.
Chara, 41, has three goals and an assist in 17 games so far this season.
