Bruins’ Charlie McAvoy leaves game with lower-body injury

Boston Bruins rookie defenceman Charlie McAvoy left the game against the Montreal Canadiens with a lower-body injury on Saturday.

McAvoy played just one shift for 37 seconds during which he appeared to take a hard slash to the foot from Brendan Gallagher.

In 59 games in his inaugural NHL season, the 20-year-old has seven goals and 25 assists.
